Mindful by Design: Incorporating mindfulness practices into your day-to-day life to improve effectiveness, perspective and self-care

Please join Kevin Wehmhoefer LICSW, Outreach Coordinator and Staff Clinician at Counseling and Mental Health Services/HUHS for an informal presentation which will review the benefits of mindfulness  and instruct attendees on how to start and sustain a practice that will support improved self-care, self-awareness and resiliency while strengthening stress management, perspective and overall effectiveness at work and at home. Presentation will include:

  • General review of mindfulness practices, goals and benefits

  • Tips and tools for beginning you own practice/pitfalls to same

  • Managing thoughts and feelings

  • Managing stress/distress

  • Exploring different types of meditations

  • Use of technology and Apps

We will have the opportunity to try out a few brief meditations during the presentation.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.  This session is part of the multi-session "PGE Career Navigator Series: Wellbeing as a Foundation for Professional Success", being hosted in collaboration with the Countway Library.
