The Assistant Director for Graduate Student Career Services position oversees graduate student career advising and programs; supports employers and alumni who want to foster stronger relationships with Master's and Ph.D. students in all disciplines at UCLA. This key relationship management role coordinates closely with the Career Center leadership team to ensure consistent communication, management and outreach to external stakeholders interested in recruiting, hiring and connecting with UCLA graduate students.

This position is also the key in assisting with the relationship building of department staff and faculty. Responsibilities include visiting employers and alumni on site, conducting needs assessments of employers' hiring UCLA graduate students, facilitating info sessions, recruitment events and career education events with Industry Relations career center team, and developing and delivering unique collaborative programming for graduate students.

The Assistant Director directly supervises one manager for graduate career services and 4-6 graduate consultants; ensures appropriate outreach and training specifically related to career advising for graduate students to meet the needs of our growing graduate population. Additionally, this position provides career advising specifically for Ph.D. students across all disciplines and is primarily responsible for all graduate career programs and collaborations with departments. This encompasses all students seeking opportunities in academia, government, industry, nonprofit, etc.

The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the graduate professional development workgroup to identify priorities and develop programming events to meet the needs of graduate students.
