DEPARTMENT:        Institutional Research and Planning                                                 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:    Bachelor's degree with at least two years of full-time experience at a college or university.  Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work and multi-task.  Proficient computer skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Master's degree, preferably in social sciences, information technology, math, statistics, or an education-related field.  Some experience in Institutional Research. Experience with database report writing, especially using either Sybase Infomaker or Crystal Reports. Basic level of experience with SPSS.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:    Responsible for gathering data, preparing reports, analyzing data, and related functions for the purposes of supporting planning, assessment, problem-solving, and decision making activities. Assists the Office of IR in all special projects, including the administration of surveys, report generation and presentations. The work generally requires consultation with faculty and all levels of administration.

DUTIES:

  1. Prepares required internal, local, state and federal reports in a timely and accurate manner using the University student information system (Jenzabar EX) and other sources.
  2. Develops, maintains, and updates queries and reports to fulfill recurring data needs for internal and external reporting requirements; creates and presents dynamic reports and data sets to support timely decision-making.
  3. Responds to requests for data/information from internal constituencies (faculty, staff and administration) to support planning, assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making activities.
  4. Assists in maintaining compliance for reporting requirements, including IPEDS, NSLC, reports related to accreditation, and others as required.
  5. Supports accreditation and grant proposal information needs.
  6. Maintain a calendar of regular data reports and creates standard reports from a variety of sources utilizing technology, including but not limited to Microsoft Access and Excel.
  7. Performs periodic review of written procedures and updates as necessary to maintain a current, complete reference manual, including the maintenance of an institutional research calendar to ensure that cyclical project timelines are met.

8.   Performs other related work as required.
