Assistant Professor of Biology @ Lander University
The Department of Biology at Lander University, a public comprehensive university in the Upstate region of South Carolina, comprises a cohesive and forward-thinking faculty who deliver an outcomes-based curriculum that has been carefully aligned with the goals of the AAAS Vision and Change initiative.
Our department seeks to hire an assistant professor to begin January 2025 or August 2025 with training to complement our current diverse range of expertise. Teaching responsibilities may include service courses for other majors (general biology, human anatomy, human physiology, and microbiology); introductory courses for biology or medical biology majors, and at least one upper-level majors’ course. The ideal candidate will share our passion for innovative teaching using high-impact practices. The candidate is expected to maintain an active research program involving undergraduate students and engage in service to the department, college, and university, as well as academic advising. Salary determined by experience. Contract period is nine months. Normal teaching load is 12 contact hours each semester.
