Post-doctoral Position on Regenerative Medicine @ The Whitehead Institute

September 5, 2018

The Knouse Lab recently opened at the Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research and we are seeking post-doctoral fellows to join our team! Our lab is harnessing the incredible genetic tractability and regenerative capacity of the mammalian liver to study the reversible cell cycle state known as quiescence in a physiologic context. We are interested in the mechanisms underlying the reversibility of quiescence and its distinction from terminal differentiation with the ultimate goal of unlocking novel approaches for regenerative medicine. To address these questions, we are developing in vivo screening systems alongside established genetic and imaging-based approaches to investigate quiescence, regeneration, and terminal differentiation directly within the mouse.

The Whitehead Institute is affiliated with and has access to all of the resources of the adjacent Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It has repeatedly been recognized as one of the best places for post-doctoral fellows to train.
