Position Summary

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated team player with a passion for Science to join the Marketing Department as a Scientific Marketing Writer. This position reports to the Director of Marketing Communications and is responsible for establishing CST as a thought leader, elevating the brand and informing market perceptions by developing scientific content that is accurate, strategic, engaging, and consistent across media and audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of project teams to conceptualize, draft, review and edit publications for an audience of biomedical research scientists
  • Create science-driven copy to increase awareness, sales, leads/conversions, leveraging time-sensitive promotions
  • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Development Scientists, Marketing managers and Designers to produce desired tone, ensuring all copy is in brand voice, effective and fits in overall space
  • Write and coordinate all copy for marketing projects, such as press releases, email, brochures, website pages, blogs, social media, videos and other corporate materials
  • Edit, proofread and fact-check copy for brand consistency, clarity and accuracy
  • Perform work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment that requires meeting time-sensitive deadlines for print collateral, publications and online marketing
  • Act as a worldwide liaison with other communications professionals and the scientific team to ensure consistent brand voice
  • Organize, prioritize, and complete tasks within deadlines without supervision.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • PhD in Life Sciences focus area of Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Developmental Biology, Neuroscience, or Immunology/Immuno-Oncology
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of bench experience
  • Strong scientific writing skills with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data from internal and external scientists
  • Solid understanding of scientific/technical terms
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a creative team
  • Ability to comprehend research and academic writing and 'translate' it in laymen’s terms for different distribution channels, including email, web, social, tradeshows, datasheets and advertisements
  • Copy editing experience, including experience with instructional editing
  • AMA guideline experience is preferred
