Assistant Professor of Biology
The Department of Biology at Connecticut College seeks applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in the broad area of Physiology to start in July of 2019. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in both teaching and research. Preference will be given to applicants with a Ph.D. in Biology or a related field and post-doctoral experience. While the position is open to all areas of physiology, we are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in neurophysiology. The successful candidate will develop an active research program that includes undergraduates and utilizes state of the art laboratory spaces in our newly renovated science building. A competitive start-up package will be offered.
The candidate will join a department of teacher/scholars, who are committed to equity pedagogy, full participation, and innovative teaching practices. In addition to teaching courses in their area of expertise, the position also requires contributions to our newly designed biology curriculum. The candidate will be expected to contribute to the College’s interdisciplinary programs, including Behavioral Neuroscience.
