Daniel Emmans, M.Ed.

SENIOR COORDINATOR, STUDENT DEVELOPMENT AND ENGAGEMENT

Daniel Emmans, M.Ed. is the Senior Coordinator for Student Development and Engagement in the Office for Graduate Education at Harvard Medical School.

Daniel manages and maintains the Navigator online resource hub for the career and skill development of graduate students, plans, delivers and facilitates career preparation programming, and manages various community outreach platforms (social media and written community digests) for the Navigator and Office for Graduate Education at HMS.

Daniel received his Honors B.A. in English from Southern Connecticut State University (New Haven, CT) before moving to Boston, MA where he earned his M.Ed. in Administration of Higher Education from Suffolk University. While completing his graduate studies, Daniel held practicum and assistantship roles at Suffolk University and the University of Massachusetts Boston. Daniel is currently pursuing his Graduate Certificate in Learning Design & Technology at Harvard Extension School.

Katelyn Federico, Ed.D.

GRADUATE EDUCATION RESEARCH ANALYST 

Katelyn Federico, Ed.D.

Dr. Katelyn Federico is the Graduate Education Research Analyst, which is a new position within the Office for Graduate Education. 

Katelyn collects and analyzes data to measure the effectiveness of student development, with a special emphasis on professional development, and reports these results in service of life sciences graduate programs and externally funded training grants.  Katelyn is involved in all steps in the data lifecycle, including data acquisition, cleaning and processing, data analysis, and visualization. Katelyn also collaborates in survey design, data collection, data processing (using both quantitative and qualitative approaches), the generation of reports, presentations, and online data-sharing tools. 

Katelyn earned a B.A. in Pure Mathematics from Boston University (Boston, MA) and an M.S. in Applied Mathematics from Northeastern University (Boston, MA), where she also earned a second Master’s in Digital Media, with a concentration in Digital Video. Finally, Katelyn received her Doctor of Education from Northeastern University where she focused on Curriculum, Teaching, Learning, and Leadership.

Jason Heustis, Ph.D.

ASSISTANT DEAN FOR STUDENT DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION

Jason Heustis, Ph.D.

Dr. Jason Heustis is the Director of Student Development and Training Evaluation for Graduate Education and Lecturer in the Department of Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School.

Jason teaches graduate students, develops skills-building curriculum, deploys career preparation programming, connects students to resources for their personal well-being and professional success, and assesses graduate student learning and development.  He has previously taught at the undergraduate level at Harvard University, Suffolk University and Tufts University.

Jason received an Honors B.S. in Biology and an Honors B.A. in Chemistry and Political Science from Saint Louis University (MO) and received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biology from Tufts University (Medford, MA), before completing a post-doctoral Curriculum Fellowship at Harvard Medical School.

Bryan McGrath, M.Ed.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR FOR EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT

Bryan McGrath, M.Ed.

Bryan has over 20 years of professional roles within higher education where he has held various positions in student affairs programs at both large universities and small private colleges – positions that involved career advising, employer engagement, large-scale event planning, student leadership, residence life, campus activities, Title IX, team building, motivating, and crisis management. Bryan has also served in talent acquisition roles for Intel and Teradyne, respectively, where he sourced, recruited, and onboarded college graduates for full-time & internship engineering positions.

Bryan received a Bachelor’s in Communications and a Master’s in Higher Education Administration, both from University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Bryan spends his free time in Southern NH with his better half and a cat who thinks he is a dog. Bryan also enjoys reading, playing and listening to music, traveling, and drinking lots of tea.
