Harvard Initiative for Learning and Teaching: Education Innovation University-wide Kick-off

Date:

Thursday, October 4, 2018, 4:00pm to 6:00pm

Location:

Harvard iLabs: Batten Hall
Our goal with this initiative is to lower the bar to entry for students who have new ideas related to teaching, learning, and education innovation broadly. Whether they are trying to start a new student organization on campus or trying to launch a venture in the free market, we are helping students navigate the breadth of resources on campus, meet other students who are interested in similar issues, get support, and – most importantly – get started.

We have been working closely with HGSE, HBS Social Enterprise Initiative, HKS Social Innovation and Change Initiative, and the Harvard Innovation Labs on this pilot.  Some highlights of the initiative include:

  • Opening up a $20K Pilot Fund to support students with early-stage education innovation ideas; available four times a year up to $500 per team
  • Hiring six HILT Education Innovation Fellows – from HBS, HGSE, HMS, and HKSG to help coach, support, and connect students
