3:00 pm– 4:00 pm - A Journey of Skills Exploration - Understanding WHY You Are Good at What You Do – presented by Dr. Josh Henkin
Understanding your professional skills, both technical and transferable, is critical to determining 1) the types of jobs you are qualified for, and 2) your value on the job “market”. Postdocs and early career professionals are comfortable discussing their technical skills, but all too often shy away from exploring the transferable skills they possess and utilize on a daily basis. Your transferable skills and how you use them are what set you apart from others with similar technical skills; thus, it is important to understand and be able to discuss both skill types towards achieving your career goals and landing your dream job.
