[HILS] Volunteer with HPREP!

September 28, 2018

Are you interested in mentoring, teaching, or outreach to Boston-area high school students?

Volunteer with the Harvard Health Professions Recruitment and Exposure Program (HPREP)!

Note that if you have already attended an HPREP information session, or you already know what volunteer positions you are interested in, feel free to fill out the volunteer application form. A reminder that applications are due Friday Oct 12.

HPREP is an outreach program hosted by Harvard to recruit high school students from underrepresented and disadvantaged backgrounds into science, medicine, and public health. Our goal is to use fun, hands-on lectures and labs paired with one-on-one mentoring to give students the excitement, confidence, and role models necessary for them to succeed in these fields. Sessions include topics like cancer biology, infectious diseases, neuroscience, health disparities, leadership, and more!

HPREP will run on 10 Saturdays from November to February in TMEC on the Longwood Campus.  If you are interested in mentoring students, teaching/developing lessons, labs, and workshops, or helping with program development and coordination, we would love to have you join our team! There are many roles to fill, some with very little time commitment and others with more.

We have one more information session which will take place on Thursday October 4from 12:40-1:40pm in TMEC 250.   Come hear more about this program and our AWESOME students! Lunch is included.

If you have not already, click here to RSVP for the Oct 4 info session. If you are unable to attend but wish to learn more, please email us at hprep@hms.harvard.edu.

Once again, the volunteer application form is due Friday October 12.
