Virtual Mini-Symposium on Inclusive Mentoring Presented By Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University

February 7, 2022

The Center for Professional Development and Inclusive Excellence (C-Hub) warmly welcomes you to join us for our first international virtual mini-symposium on Inclusive Mentoring this February 16th and 17th 2022 (JST).  Registration is free and open to you and your science faculty, graduate students, and administrative leaders.

The event will feature presentations by internationally renowned scientists Rita ColwellDiane Lipscombe, and Magdelena Skipper. We are also delighted to be joined by a panel of our inspirational faculty recipients of OIST’s Excellence in Mentoring Awards who will share their experiences and approaches to inclusive mentorship, as well as a panel featuring our graduate students who will share their reflections on impactful mentorship experiences and what an inclusive climate in the research lab means to them.

Our goal is to engage in global conversations, explorations, and strategic thinking on how individuals and institutions can promote impactful, inclusive mentoring cultures. How can we contribute toward creating inclusive research climates and collaborative communities? How can we address practices that preclude inclusion and equity by developing intentional approaches to inclusive mentorship?

Please register early to receive your institutional copy of one of three excellent books on Mentoring.

Note that the dates and times listed are in JST time zone, so we hope that you will be able to join those sessions that are feasible for you.
