The Transformational and Translational Immunology Discovery (TTID) at AbbVie Cambridge Research Center, MA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join the regulatory T cells team, working collaboratively with other TTID teams to support target identification and validation using in vitro and in vivo experimental approaches to advance AbbVie immunology pipeline. This position requires passion, attention to detail, hands-on experience and teamwork.
Major Responsibilities:
- Identify and validate novel targets from big data analysis and literature study.
- Design strategic plans to guide selection and prioritization of identified targets.
- Generate proof of concept data package to support Go/No-Go decisions using in vitro and in vivo target validation platform.
- Plan and execute in vitro and ex vivo experiment to investigate functional features of regulatory T cells.
- Isolate and culture primary immune cells from PBMCs or human/mouse tissues for downstream analysis.
- Perform functional and phenotypic characterization of T-cells, including proliferation, differentiation, suppression, and activation assays.
- Analyze T-cell phenotype and function by multicolor flow cytometry, ELISA, protein and gene expression analysis.
- Utilize technical knowledge and experience to effectively troubleshoot and optimize assays.
- Ensure data collection is captured in electronic laboratory notebooks and databases.
- Perform data analysis, summarize results in study reports, and provide regular updates at internal meetings.
Qualifications
Basic:

BS, MS or PhD in Biology or related field with typically 10+ (BS), 8+ (MS), or 0+ (PhD) years of experience

Strong background in immunology or related discipline ; experience with murine and human regulatory T cells is desired

Hands-on experience with handling human blood samples, mammalian cell culture and assay development (experience with primary human cell culture strongly preferred)

Proficiency in molecular biology skills such as qPCR analysis, flow cytometry, and Western Blotting analysis.

Understanding of autoimmune diseases including SLE, pSS, SSc and IBD is a plus

Experience in in vivo animal models, especially humanized mouse models, is a plus

Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, GraphPad Prism, and ELN/LIMS for data entry, analysis, and presentation
