This position is part of the new Center for Translational Neuroscience (CTN), a collaborative Center between Carney Institute of Brain Science and the Brown Institute for Translational Science. The CTN staff is administered within the Molecular Biology, Cell Biology & Biochemistry (MCB) Department. The new Research Development and Support Specialist will be a member of the CTN team responsible for increasing CTN’s research grant submissions and portfolio, particularly multi-disciplinary, or multi-PI or multi-institutional grant submissions and funding. The incumbent will be responsible for supporting research efforts and initiatives for CTN laboratories and collaborations across laboratories, through identifying, contributing to writing and preparing grant materials, and facilitating the submission of grant proposals. This position will partner with the Director of the CTN and CTN PI’s to develop and build robust collaborative grant submissions. The person in this position will also coordinate scientific events, scientist working meetings (ie preparing minutes) and contribute to communications efforts to enhance CTN presence. The position will involve some project support to ensure execution of studies, such as contributing to regulatory documents for animal and human subject studies, and research progress reports. position will ensure Faculty research efforts are appropriately supported and will create increased research capabilities. Effective support in this role will also result in well-written and competitive grants submissions.
