UMD Swenson College of Science and Engineering and the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry seeks a postdoctoral associate, job code 9546, to assist in developing research projects for introductory chemistry labs using a Course-based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) model from talented and diverse scholars in Chemistry Educational Research or related fields. 

This is a 12-month, 100% time position under the direction of Dr. Jacob Wainman.  The anticipated duration is 2 years with further appointments contingent upon performance and availability of funding. 

Job Duties: 

Research (100%) in the implementation and assessment of evidence-based chemistry laboratory instructional techniques, primarily including participation in developing and teaching a CURE in first-year introductory chemistry laboratories, and other relevant discipline-based education research projects agreed upon by the employer. Co-author and present research papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Co-author grant proposals to internal and external agencies.  Participate in collaborative meetings with internal and external faculty members. Supervise undergraduate and Master’s students. The Employer retains the right to change or assign other duties to this position.
