Mentoring Opportunity: 2020 Native American High School Program

March 6, 2020

This summer, the Furshpan-Potter Native American High School Program will take place June 6-27, 2020.  High school students from Reservations in Arizona and Montana will come to Harvard for a rigorous and engaging college-preparatory program.  We’re looking for a group of dedicated graduate students to serve as mentors for these students for the duration of the program.  The mentors will work with the students to prepare resumes and personal statements, help with homework during the program, and also help the students put together final presentations at the end of the third week of the program.

For an idea of how the program runs, please see the attached schedule from last summer.

Time Commitment:

·       1-2 other pre-program planning sessions throughout the spring semester

·       June 6-27: ~8 hours of mentoring per week

The mentorship application is due Friday, March 6th.

Please note: there are other ways to be involved with this program besides mentoring, including lecturing.  If you’re interested in being involved but not in a mentorship capacity, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
