INSTRUCTOR OF BIOLOGY

Non-tenure track (8-month, continuing contract)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. or Masters in the Biological Sciences with preferred expertise in Genetics and/or Molecular Biology. Undergraduate teaching experience in Biology.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates are individuals with expertise in Genetics and/or Molecular Biology. Candidates should be laboratory-oriented and student-focused, and have demonstrated excellent teaching skills at the college level. Experience in teaching Introductory Biology courses and Genetics/Molecular Biology courses using modern pedagogical approaches is desired. The selected candidate will be expected to contribute to a team-centered Biology Department. Experience in a Biotechnology-related research setting is a plus. Interest in promoting student success, inclusive teaching practices, and STEM outreach is preferred.

DUTIES:
Successful candidates will teach General Biology I lectures and/or laboratories, Genetics lectures and/or laboratories, and Molecular Biology lectures and/or laboratories. Teaching other molecular biology or biotechnology-oriented courses as needed. Successful candidates will also support departmental and institutional initiatives geared at enhancing student academic success.
