Director for Graduate Training and Mentoring @ GRAD 360

The Director for Graduate Training and Mentoring will direct and manage programs and services for GRAD 360. The Director will be responsible for developing two broad initiatives each with discrete activities: (1) weekly training opportunities for graduate students at all levels (master's, PhD's) and postdocs, and (2) a portfolio of mentoring programs focusing on the needs of specific graduate student populations. The anticipated outcomes of each initiative are to enhance career and professional development, student engagement and success, and timely degree completion. Performs other duties as assigned.

35% - Essential - Professional Development Programming: Plans, organizes, implements, and assesses programs designed to develop transferable skills essential for success in graduate school and beyond. Oversees GRAD 360 weekly programming and extended professional development programming. Supports the development and execution of high-impact and immersive professional development experiences (e.g., New Graduate Student Orientations, TA Orientations, 3MT Boot Camp, GRADS preparation, Writing Institute). Develops partnerships with faculty, staff, employers and alumni to facilitate programming and secure presenters for professional development programs. Assists in the supervision and development of graduate assistants, interns, and volunteers where appropriate and desirable for the success of professional development programming.

35% - Essential - Programming for A Diverse and Inclusive Community: Designs, coordinates, and manages the execution of professional development and mentoring programs to augment curricular experiences and enhance the transition and success of international students and students who hold identities that have historically been underrepresented in graduate education. Such programs may be characterized as student-centered and community-centered in scope and provide structure and support to enhance the success of these student populations at Clemson University. Assists in the supervision and development of graduate assistants, interns, and volunteers where appropriate and desirable for the success of programming for a diverse and inclusive community.

20% - Essential - Collaboration and Outreach: Collaborates with Graduate School, Student Affairs, Research, Inclusion and Equity, and Global Engagement colleagues as well as faculty across disciplines to create an integrated, positive, and team-oriented approach to the delivery of programs and services. Serves as a contributing leader within the Graduate School, meeting regularly with supervisor, attending staff meetings, and developing and supporting internal collaborations. Serves on university committees and task forces as appropriate, including the Joint Task Force on the Graduate Student Signature Experience.

10% - Essential - Assessment & Evaluation: Assists with the development of learning outcomes for GRAD 360 programming. Assists with the planning and establishment of assessment processes to demonstrate model effectiveness and participant learning. Collects and analyzes data to make data-driven and evidence-based decisions for professional development programming. Develops reports for supervisor and leadership team and makes recommendations to address emerging trends. Assists in the dissemination of scholarly activities, including, and not limited to, conference and symposium presentations and journal articles.

A bachelor's degree and relevant program experience.

Standard Hrs: 37.5; Band: 07 ($ 55,000 - 60,000)
