Job Announcement: Coordinator of Academic and Career Services (new position), Career & Professional Development Team, Brandeis GSAS

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is looking to hire a Sr. Department Coordinator of Academic and Career Services. The person in this role will report to the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs. The Sr. Department Coordinator supports the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs in maintaining the accuracy of student academic standing from the point of matriculation through graduation, administering the dissertation and thesis submission cycle, processing student status changes and supporting GSAS prize and fellowship applications and competitions. As a part of the Professional and Career Development team, this position is also responsible for the data collection for the “Outcomes” data project, which tracks the career pathways of Brandeis GSAS PhDs. This position will also support the Associate and Assistant Directors of Career Services in a variety of technological and administrative processes. The successful candidate will have strong project management, communication and collaboration skills. Responsibilities:

Dissertation and Thesis Submission Process: Manages the submission process including review and electronic submission of dissertation and theses. Coordinates with the Registrar as part of the graduation completion process.
Academic Status Processing and Readmission: Serve as the academic affairs liaison for the readmission process, including the database entry of all student status lines. Process approved student status changes, create and distribute letters. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean, track leaves of absence, withdrawals and other status changes.
Academic Prize and Award Competitions: Support the Assistant Dean in administering the application, deliberation and decision processes of all academic awards, fellowships and prizes.
Outcomes Data Project: Lead the data collection efforts for the outcomes data project. In collaboration with the Assistant Dean, build a strategic plan for how to collect this data on an ongoing, refreshed and sustainable basis, by partnering with existing units including the Registrar, Alumni Relations, Institutional Advancement, Career Services, Institutional Research, etc. Supervise and coordinate the collection and input of the data.
Professional Development Support: Technological and administrative support for the Career Services team, including weekly Handshake queue approvals. Collaborate with communications team about developing and implementing a social media strategy and presence for Career Services. Support any professional development programming, including event planning and logistics.
Supports the Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs with a variety of special projects and initiatives.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required, MA preferred.
1-3 ears of work related experience required.
Strong research and technology skills, as well as the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across many diverse disciplines and backgrounds.
Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, a familiarity with best practices of higher-ed social media and a willingness to learn database management and reporting.
Must have strong organization, writing, and interpersonal skills, and an ability to thrive in a complex environment.
