Assistant/Associate Professor, Virology @ University of Wisconsin-Madison

June 1, 2021

We are very pleased to announce an outstanding virology job opportunity at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

The Institute for Molecular Virology (IMV), in collaboration with the Departments of Pathobiological Sciences, Medical Microbiology & Immunology, or Biochemistry, seeks to hire a full-time academic tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor. The faculty hire is expected to develop and continue a robust research program aimed at generating new insights into the molecular biology of viruses, particularly RNA viruses, their processes of infection, replication, structure, biochemistry, immunology, evolution, proteins & translation, and/or disease pathogenesis. This position is one of a 3-part synergistic cluster hiring initiative focusing on multiple components of RNA virology, DNA virology and structural virology.

This particular hire is expected to develop or extend a research program geared towards understanding the molecular biology or biochemistry of viruses, with preference given to candidates working on cutting edge research directions relevant to RNA viruses that cause diseases in humans, or as emerging or zoonotic pathogens. The successful candidate will become an IMV member and a Madison Virology Program Affiliate, joining a vibrant community of virologists, complementing and strengthening the UW's outstanding breadth in biological research.

Candidates may apply online at "Jobs at UW" (http://jobs.wisc.edu) under job number 233319. For full consideration, applications must be received by Sept 15, 2021.
