 

#  Faculty Fellow - Biology @ Whitman College

The Department of Biology at Whitman College is seeking candidates for a one-year [Faculty Fellow](https://www.whitman.edu/provost/faculty-fellows-program) position, beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will teach 60% of a full teaching load, consisting of: either Genetics or Cell Biology; a course in their area of interest; and a contribution to the introductory biology series. The remaining 40% of time is reserved for research and career development. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in biology or a related field by the time of appointment.

Whitman’s biology faculty are engaged teachers and active scholars. We value and support student and faculty research, ranging from course-based research projects to ambitious externally-funded programs and research collaborations with other institutions. Faculty Fellows receive substantial research travel support and mentoring that fosters their growth in the classroom and in their scholarly field.
