Individual Development Plans, or IDPs, can help guide you through your PhD. In the process of completing an IDP, you'll answer questions about your short-term and long-term goals and meet with a mentor of your choice to discuss the best route to attain those goals. Many Harvard life sciences programs have their own IDP forms, which are listed here along with IDPs from other universites for reference. Learn more about IDPs in [this article](https://www.cell.com/molecular-cell/pdf/S1097-2765(15)00307-X.pdf) written by members of the DePace lab at HMS.
