The Department of Statistics offers free, drop-in consulting on statistical issues arising in research to anyone in the Harvard Community.
Under the supervision of a faculty member, statistics Ph.D. students will offer assistance in all forms of data analysis and interpretation of results, including but not limited to:
- Causal Inference
- Experimental Design
- Classification and Prediction (Machine Learning)
- Statistical Issues Arising from 'Big Data' Sets
- Time Series
- Model Fitting
- Data Visualization
Participants are encouraged to seek advice early on in their research but are welcome at all stages. Please be prepared with data, prior analyses, and any other relevant material when dropping in.

Consulting sessions are held on a weekly basis during the fall and spring semesters. They will begin on the second week of the semester. Sessions will not be held on the first week of the semester, during the summer, reading periods, finals weeks, and university holidays. See the Harvard FAS Academic Calendar for exact dates. The final consulting drop-in hours of the Spring 2019 semester will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
