#### calendar\_today Date and Time

 **October 1, 2020**

 04:00PM - 05:30PM EDT

What is your thought process in preparing a talk you are about to give? What are the most important aspects you consider? In this 90-minute workshop we will help you “set the stage” for a good talk. Using[iBiology](http://www.ibiology.org/)course resources, you will learn about the importance of the framework – the audience, the goal, and the message, and the importance of storytelling – and why these components make a research talk effective. We will guide you through the process of the framework in the setting of your own talk, and we will practice how your goal and message change depending on the audience. Lastly, you will hear about various storytelling techniques and ways you can implement them when sharing your research.
