Science in the News (SITN) is a group of Harvard graduate students from all fields working to bridge the communication gap between scientists and non-scientists. We accomplish this by providing free seminars, lessons, social events, and written material on varying science topics for the general public. In the process, we provide science PhD students the chance to hone their communication skills by hosting these events and by giving feedback on their presentations and articles.

There are lots of interesting ways to get involved:

SITN Lecture Series – interactive weekly seminars on cutting-edge research topics

SITN Blog Longform – a biweekly source of information on recent high profile issues written and edited by graduate students

SITN Blog Shortform – twice-a-week short form articles providing insights on trending science stories

SITN DayCon – annual day-long science conference for the general public featuring talks, poster sessions and panels all crafted by graduate students

SIT'N Listen! Podcast –  monthly podcasts offering discussions, interviews and scientific goodness in an accessible format

Science by the Pint – a featured professor and his/her students come together once monthly with members of the wider Boston community for informal conversation over beers

Model Organism Zoo – bringing model organisms (flies, worms, zebrafish, and microbes) and scientists to Boston-area schools for day-long, activity-filled sessions.

...and much more!!!
