Ever wonder what a Provost does?  Or what the difference is between an Assistant Dean and an Associate Dean, or the difference between Dean of the Faculty and the Dean of Education?   Are a graduate student or post-doc considering your career options and want to know more about the full range of career trajectories and entry-level positions available for roles in education?   This session should help you answer this questions.

In this session, Dr. Jason Heustis (Director of Student Development and Training Evaluation and Lecturer on Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard Medical School) will faciliate and overview of

- the administrative structure of colleges, universities and multi-institututional school systems in the U.S.

- the different professional roles available in educational institutions, and the jobs performed by faculty and staff in a variety of roles

- how to find available positions for a diverse array of jobs in higher education and how to read to read job postings to dissect the skills necessary to meet the expectations of those jobs

- how to build skills during graduate school and post-doc to make you more competitive for those positions

This session will be applicable to master's students, doctoral students and post-docs.
