Learn strategies for your LGBTQ+ job search. Topics will include: resume/cover letter writing, interviewing, and finding supportive organizations. Opportunities to reflect on your own transition to the professional world will be provided. The implications of Dr. Zerillo’s research will be discussed, including insights to disclosing visible and hidden LGBTQ+ identities. The session will provide an opportunity to have career your questions answered and provide LGBTQ+ specific resources. Members of the LGBTQ+ community, including allies, are welcome to attend this session.

This program is co-sponsored by the Office of Career Services at Harvard & the Office of Career Strategy at Yale. This event will not be recorded in the spirit of transparency and anonymity for participants. 


About the Presenter: Dr. Barbara Zerillo, Ed.D (she/her) is the Director of The Career Education Center at Simmons University, where she has worked since January of 2020. She has been in the field of Career Coaching for over ten years and is passionate about advocating for LGBTQ+ community. She received a Doctorate of Education from Northeastern University where her research focused on identity disclosure experiences for LGBTQ+ students to faculty and staff in higher education. She and her partner Mandy live in Dorchester, MA and recently became parents in January.
