Please see the message below about an internship opportunity at Flagship Pioneering, a premier life science venture creation institute.

If you’re considering an alternative path from academia that allows you to remain engaged in creative science, Flagship Pioneering’s Fellows Program offers a balance of freedom of thought, imagination, science rooted in reality and rigorous business practice. The FlagshipFellows Program is unlike a traditional internship or academic fellowship. It provides a rare opportunity to do something different with your graduate training and to apply your scientific expertise, entrepreneurial talents, and self-starter mentality toward creating new ventures.

By way of background Flagship was founded in 2000 with a singular vision: to conceive, create, resource and grow first-in-class, unprecedented life sciences ventures that transform human health and sustainability. To date we have fostered the development of more than 100 scientific ventures resulting in $20 billion in aggregate value, 500+ issued patents, and more than 50 clinical trials for novel therapeutic agents. Through our in-house innovation foundry, Flagship Labs, we have founded companies such as Moderna Therapeutics, Rubius Therapeutics, Indigo Agriculture, and many more.

Science is at the core of Flagship’s fellowship program—a new way of thinking about cutting-edge science that goes beyond splashy headlines to actually impact the health of people and our planet. Each day, Fellows work closely with Flagship’s team of entrepreneurial scientists to explore big ideas, look differently at scientific literature, and generate new vantage points for companies with world-changing potential. For our program we are looking for outstanding, creative scientists, engineers, inventors, and budding entrepreneurs who want to stay entrenched in science while pushing the creative bounds of an alternative path.

We are currently accepting applications on a rolling basis for summer 2019 (June-August) in Cambridge. All information on the fellowship and how to apply can be found in the attached PDF and on our website www.FlagshipPioneering.com. Our job description is attached and people can apply here: https://flagshippioneering.thriveapp.ly/job/97
