CV of Failures: A Scientist's Guide to Resilience

Date:

Friday, May 17, 2019, 4:30pm to 6:00pm

Location:

Waterhouse Room, Gordon Hall

The Program in Graduate Education (PGE) is pleased to host an open forum to discuss resilience and overcoming failure, where Dean George Daley and other HMS faculty will share their stories as part of an educational forum and social event.

Resilience - the ability to withstand and rebound from adversity - is a positive contributor to maintaining good mental health. Resilience is often discussed as a personal attribute, yet it plays an equally important role in career navigation. A recent Nature spotlight drew attention to a series of articles outlining the importance and benefits of failure in science. This series also created an opportunity to discuss the prevalence of perceived failures and the many instances of these that all scientists have to overcome.  This event "CV of Failures" was sparked by the namesake Nature article.

Hosts: Kayla Davis (BBS student), Ian Hill (BBS student), Jason Heustis (PGE)

Please RSVP (sign-up below) and join us for this educational event and Friday evening social!
