There is a growing cry for help from graduate students across the globe who struggle with significant mental health concerns. Despite increased discussion of the topic, there remains a dire need to resolve our understanding of the mental health issues in the trainee population.

[HUHS] HUHS urgent care location change

Dear Members of the Harvard Community,
 
I am writing to remind you that all HUHS urgent care services are now provided 24/7 (weekday daytime, overnight, weekend, and holiday hours) at the HUHS Smith Campus Center Clinic, 75 Mt. Auburn Street, on the third floor. Overnight urgent care is permanently closed at Pound Hall, but the Harvard Law School satellite clinic will continue to offer its regular services during business hours.

Writing for the Biomedical Sciences Course (INDP300)

This HMS course prepares students for the demands of writing in the medical sciences. The class has two linked agendas: students will learn how to turn raw research into polished academic argument and students will practice specific lessons through exercises that allow them to think about their own developing scholarship.

There has been increasing interest within the biosciences community on career plan- ning, particularly non-academic career planning. As the number of biosciences graduate students in the United States increases, the reality of obtaining an academic job is bleak. Data from the National Science Board show that the percentage of doctorate recipients holding tenure and tenure-track appointments in the bio- sciences 3 to 5 years after receiving their PhD has decreased from 17.3% in 1993 to 10.6% in 2013. Communication of Science Course (SYSBIO212)

Students will work collaboratively with faculty and one another on critical science communication skills including crafting graphics, writing fellowships, and giving oral presentations. (Required for Sys Bio G1s)

Counseling and Mental Health Services at Harvard

Counseling and Mental Health Services (CAMHS) at Harvard is a counseling and mental health support service which seeks to work collaboratively with students and the University to support individuals who are experiencing some measure of distress in their lives. Both urgent care and recurring appointments are available through CAMHS.
